HAPPY THANKSGIVING! (Do you remember what that was?)
I don’t reread books too often, however if I were to recommend books to read around the holiday season, I would go with these atmospheric classics:

This is a “Top Ten Tuesday” exercise…
The other day I mentioned to a friend that I am reading “The Shape of Sand.” I think she thought I was referring to the movie “The Shape of Water” [which is definitely NOT the same thing!], and then she mentioned a book she’d read, “The Color of Water.” I also get “All the Light We Cannot See” mixed up with “The Light Between Oceans,” with “The Space Between Us“, “The Mountain Between Us“… or how about “The Words Between Us“? Let’s come full circle: “The Light Between Us”! It seems if you want to write a really good book, you’ll play shuffle with a few past bestseller titles and come out a winner.
I am going to take more of a literal interpretation of this exercise and list some types of titles I’ve read that really stand out from the ordinary.

This is a “Top Ten Tuesday” exercise…
I used to use the term ‘To Read Notebook’, meaning the very, very long list of book titles I planned on reading at some point in time. I later found out this is called a ‘To Be Read’ list, or TBR for short. But such a conundrum, I have: Do you call it a TBR list? Or just TBR? Because it doesn’t make sense to me to say my ‘To Be Read’. But it sounds laborious to say TBR list. Like, duh.
Anyway, here is a list of books I would read this fall IF I had all the free time in the world. I make out lists of TBRs every year, organizing books according to what seems most seasonally hygge-appropriate. I’m all about the atmosphere! So this is my list of “Fall Reads” that I know I won’t make it through, and probably will only accomplish one or two from the list. But maybe it will give someone else a crinkle down their spine (as LMM would say) just looking at them as well…

By ‘Auto-Buy’, I assume TTT means authors we would automatically buy just because of the author’s name on the cover. I don’t give authors so much liberty in my world, but there are a few that seem to come up with plots that almost always go on my TBR. Some of them I haven’t even begun to start reading, yet I consider them almost kindred spirits in way because of the way we tend to love the same sorts of subjects, plots and backdrops. So here are a few of those KS:

I’ve almost always labeled my favorite genre as anything that includes “Adventure!” But lately I’ve been shifting toward anything that gives me pleasurable thrills, namely “Atmospheric” stories that make me feel like I’m there. Who doesn’t want that in a good book? Nearly all of my favorites are memorable to me years after I’ve read them, because of landscapes or action scenes or humorous scenarios. I’ve picked some of the sharpest-image ones to list below:

Hi! I’m taking a deep breath and doing something completely new on the blog– something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. I’ve discovered the Top Ten Tuesday topics posts on others’ book review blogs and it appeals to me because of the combination of books + lists! I wanted to start doing it since the beginning of the new year, but I wasn’t sure how to fit into my schedule because I know I’m not quite dedicated enough to get it out every week and especially not every Tuesday. Finally I realized the year was going to pass me by if I didn’t just start doing it, so I’m just going to without knowing how I’m going to work this and that’s that. Just know in advance it won’t be regular so you’ve been warned.
I think I will start off with tomorrow’s topic since I’ll feel like I’m already ahead of the game. Ha! And that topic is: PLACES MENTIONED IN BOOKS THAT I’D LIKE TO VISIT. Ready? So here we go!
