Hi there! Hope you’re all having a wonderful summer! If you’re looking for a perfect summer read, I’ll suggest one of my top all-time favorites: “Christy,” by Catherine Marshall. This is one of the few books I’ve re-read and got more out of the second time around. Many people have been impacted by the semi-biographical story of Christy Huddleston (based on the author’s mother), who travels to the Great Smoky Mountains pre-WWI era to teach school to the poverty-stricken community of Cutter Gap.
This is a rerun episode of the Midday Connection WePick Book Club, but I don’t believe I’ve ever posted it on here, so you can listen for a limited time (up to a year post air-date) by clicking here. Enjoy!
